Ayee, I'm In the UK without a working visa

Big Ben -  London, England
What  great way to start my blog. I'm just had Nando's for the first time ever and the food was amazing. My mouth was on fire from the extra heat sauce I blindly poured on my food, but it was delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone. I'm just settling with a cup of tea thinking about my first two days in London, England.

When I landed, I wandered like a lost cat through the airport trying to figure out where to go. When I finally found the train station my visa kept getting declined when I put it the machine. Greeeaaat...
Did I mention this was after a 7 hour flight that was delayed almost 2 hours because of a lightning storm in Toronto? (are these omens?)

Still trying to sort out the visa issue, but in the meantime I'll just enjoy myself and take it all in. This is an amazing place - and an opportunity I cannot let myself take for granted.

I've had such a great time hanging out and buzzing about the beautiful Covent Garden with Ashley and Ree. With all the worries and stress of my visa it was an amazing chance that we ran into (literally) Conan O'Brien while wandering the cobblestone alleys.

Ashley's now gone off to work and Ree has gone off for the day so I just spent my time sightseeing and wandering the streets of London before my bus to Glasgow tonight.

I had a really fun time hanging out and staying them (thanks guys!) even for just the one night. I was pretty sick for most of it - a combination of lack of sleep and lack of food - but they helped make the best of it. Going out for a margarita and burrito probably wasn't the best idea, but it tasted amazing and it was great fun.

After Nando's I decided, When in Rome.. (I'm in London but I think you get the point)

Even though I have been here before, I took a really amazing walk down the River Thames. I saw the usual sights (Big Ben, the Eye, Westminister Abbey, etc) which was nice. I didn't go in any of them because I've done them before and frankly, I've already spent too much money and it was only day 2.

I had some more issues with my phone when I finally got it working and ran out of minutes while on a collect call with visa. Apparently, you cannot place a collect call in the UK - they don't allow it. How ridiculous is that? I found that out after spending £10 to check my backpack into Harrods so I could go inside to the vodaphone store.

Anyways, I'm just going to continue to focus on the positives until it gets sorted out. Can't wait to talk to you all about Scotland!

Collect Memories, Not Things. Unless you can afford both.

Kyle.
